Summer 2008: Pride and Pre-Pride Events

Just a quick update…we are still here over the summer and it’s our most important event, PRIDE, on Saturday August 2nd. We’re meeting at 1pm by the Custom House Square fountains so come in your colours and glad rags ladies and gents and we’ll have a fantastic afternoon. 

To whet your apetite for the parade on saturday we’re all heading to the QFT on Thursday (31st July) for the 8:50pm showing of “XXY” which sets to be a fantastic film and a fabulous night with a drink or two for good measure. Don’t miss out! 

Finally a wee note from myself. As the new President I should personally like to acknowledge all of the hard work put in last year by the executive team and the amazing society members, it was a brilliant year. I wish you all the best of luck in the big bad world of work   

I expect this year to be even bigger and better with an even larger membership. I can’t wait to welcome the new undergrads in september and hopefully meet some new and greet some old faces at Pride this year.

Belfast Film Festival 2008

This year’s Belfast Film Festival is coming up, and, as last year, features a ‘Same Sex Cinema’ section. This year’s films are:

• East Side Story & Serene Hunter (BFF Studio Cinema, Weds 16th April, 7.00pm)
• Otto: Or, Up With Dead People (QFT, Fri 11th April, 6.30pm)
• Finn’s Girl (QFT, Tues 15th April, 9.45pm)
• The Aggressives (Black Box Cafe, Thurs 17th April, 8.00pm)

All tickets are £5 for students, and can be purchased online.

London Lesbian & Gay Film Festival Coming to QFT

The London Lesbian & Gay Film Festival is coming to Queen’s Film Theatre. It will be featuring a selection of gay and lesbian themed films from around the world.

Films include:
